Late one early summer night, Dr. McCann was working in her lab. She was just about to wrap up her experiments for the night and leave campus when she heard the rain drops hitting the windows and the roll of thunder in the distance. All of the sudden, the lights went out in the laboratory and there was a deafening bang. Early the next morning, Officer Hofmann was called by a frantic faculty member from Franklin Science Center. When he arrived on the first floor of the building, Officer Hofmann saw a trail of bloody footprints leading from Dr. McCann’s laboratory to her office.
