Led by two dynamic writers with six published books between them, the SU Creative Writing Camp offers high school students an intensive two-day immersion in poetry and fiction. In small groups that will foster personal connections, participants will develop new skills as writers, readers, and creative thinkers. Through many hands-on activities, each student will explore his or her own literary voice, while learning about topics such as form in poetry, characterization, plot, writing from life experience, and the importance of revision. The camp's supportive, enthusiastic approach will include guided writing exercises, collaborative activities, workshops, and a celebratory final reading.
