Counselors in Training

The CIT program is an internship (unpaid) for the summer season. Being at camp is one of the most life-impacting internships in the world. Counselors and CITs will gain skills in communication, solving complex problems, and confidence and that they became the best version of themselves through working at camp. CITS will create friendships with their co-interns and the staff team, and prepare for a successful transition to staff and instructors someday. Candidates must apply, be interviewed and attend training (online & in-person) after which they are approved to sign up for week-long internship sessions. CIT are scheduled per session and expected to work at least 2 sessions in the season.

CIT at Camp Twigs & Mountain Bike Camp

Offered every week at all Camp Twigs locations. Pre-camp training includes online and in-person training sessions in late May. Training will cover counselors' skills & expectations, child development, safety, plus exploring in nature, crafts, games, and making friends. A $200 one-time donation is appreciated to cover training costs.

CIT at Sail Camp

Offered every week. $485 one-time fee includes online training and CIT training week, June 5-9. Training will cover counselors skills & expectations, TWRA boaters safety, and US Sailing Teaching & Coaching Fundamentals. Plus lots of sailing, practice in teaching sailing, team building games and fun!
