4-H is a community of more than 6 million youth all across America who are learning leadership, citizenship, and life skills. In 4-H, young people have fun, learn, explore and discover. 4-H can be found in every county of every state and in more than 80 countries around the world. In Maryland, 4-H is a program of University of Maryland Extension. More than 45,000 youth belong to 4-H in our state. 4-H gives young people opportunities to follow their own interests through 4-H projects ranging from photography to model rocketry, from dogs to horses, from foods to fashions, from robotics to the environment and more. 4-H members belong to community clubs where they learn to conduct meetings and to serve as officers and committees. 4-H club members plan fun programs, help their communities, and make friends with the guidance of trained 4-H volunteers and leaders.
