Easterseals Camp Harmon - Special Needs
Easterseals Central California has owned and operated Camp Harmon since 1963 providing high-quality residential camp programs for children and adults with disabilities.
Camp Harmon is located in Boulder Creek amidst the beautiful redwood forest of the Santa Cruz Mountains. With donations, the camp was constructed to provide accessibility for those with disabilities.
The Camp is accredited by the American Camp Association and serves campers ages 8 to 65 years of age. Each session is designed for a specific age group and for individuals with developmental or physical disabilities.
The camper to counselor ratio for Camp Harmon is 3 campers per 1 counselor, and campers live in cabin groups that typically consist of six campers and two staff.
Easter Seals Camp Harmon features a combined lodge and dining hall, an on-site infirmary, 14 winterized cabins, an arts and crafts center, accessible swimming pool, a golf putting green, an athletic field and an animal farm. Campers choose from a wide variety of activities including swimming, arts and crafts, horseback riding, archery, hiking, sports and games.
Our staff includes two registered nurses, who are on site at all times, and counselors 18 years and older who have had background checks and thorough training. Our staff is recruited from all over the United States and is made up of people from varied backgrounds brought together by a desire to positively impact the lives of individuals with special needs and their families.
We believe that camping experiences help build self-reliance, independence, confidence and strong friendships. Participating in varied recreational activities empowers each camper to explore new interests and provides their families a well-earned respite.
