Amplify Sleep Away Camp is a music and creative arts camp for girls+ located on the Besant Hill School campus in Ojai, CA with a shuttle from LAX. Our mission is to empower girls through music education, the creative arts, community, and positive mentorship in a collaborative, supportive environment. All skill levels are welcome as campers are divided into cohorts based on grade to spend each day in their chosen immersive learning, improving skills, and creating an original piece for the exciting showcase performance. Immersives vary each session and can include drums, guitar, vocals, bass guitar, musical theater, film, hip hop dance, music production, journalism, skateboarding, photography and band practice intensive. Elective activities each day can include DJing, songwriting, life skills building, fine arts, crafts, poetry, collage, zines, yoga, exploring nature, playing games, swimming, screen printing, karaoke and more. Campers enjoy activities ranging from visiting artist performances to dance parties to star gazing, add ons such as private music and surf lessons, head off campus for an overnight camping trip, and so much more. Staff are recruited from all over the world and trained to lift up each camper's voice in a healthy, safe and fun environment. Every person involved in camp is a skilled artist and/or camp counselor who enjoys spending their summer giving back to youth through mentorship and instruction and brings our mission to life through kindness, inclusion and fun.
