Base Camp (Ages 7-12) Campers spend a week in the beautiful Colorado mountains, making new friends, learning new skills and making memories that will last a lifetime. Living in single-gender cabins, campers get a taste of all that camp has to offer, including horse¬back riding, canoeing, and an out-of-cabin over¬night packout adventure. These exciting outdoor programs are designed to not only give our campers the thrill of a lifetime, but also to teach positive values and life skills. The character of each child grows as our counselors empower him/her to be a helpful and caring member of our community. When registering for Base Camp, each camper selects a Skill Block of their choice. Campers will spend 9 hours learning the basic skills required to become proficient in the areas of Marksmanship, Horsemanship, Survival Skills or Mountain Sports. Because we believe that play is the basis of all learning, we have also scheduled in Creative Blocks where campers can express themselves more creatively. Campers will choose from Pioneers, The Arts, Group Games or Science and Ecology and will spend another 8 hours participating in these activities.
