Clearwater Camp has been empowering girls to lead extraordinary lives for 80 years in beautiful northern Wisconsin. Campers aged 8-16 live in small cabins of 4-6 campers with one counselor, creating a high staff ratio both within the cabin and in activities. We have incredible facilities including our lakefront location on 3300-acre Lake Tomahawk, 200 neighboring acres of nature conservancy land, and our private 5-acre island, just across a hand-built footbridge from the mainland.
We are a non-competitive camp without rankings, badges, or levels which makes it easy to try new activities. Our camp is small, with no more than 100 campers per session, adding to our deep sense of community. Rich in history, campers take part in traditions reaching back 80 years including council fires, our camp play, and other special events. We offer dozens of activities including horseback riding, sailing, water skiing and more through our unique programming style that avoids daily sign ups or doing every activity with the cabin group.
Every camper goes on either a backpacking or canoeing trip, with additional options for our older campers including sea kayaking the Apostle Islands, hiking Isle Royale National Park, canoeing the Boundary Waters Canoeing Area, and sailing in Lake Superior. Without electronics, phones, or internet girls have a chance to improve skills, make lifelong friendships, try new things, and return to an authentic self.
Clearwater Camp has been changing lives for 80 years through our activities, beautiful location, dedicated staff, and tripping program. We hope to see you this summer for another summer of fun!
