Designed with adoptive families in mind, our family camp experience combines a little bit of therapy and a whole lot of fun. Our camp is located at historic Camp Montvale eight miles from Maryville, Tennessee on 364 acres at the foot of Chilhowee Mountain adjacent to the Great Smoky Mountains. The tranquil woodland setting is an ideal location for families to unplug and reconnect. The goals of Family Camp at Montvale are to: • Provide an emotionally and physically safe environment • Promote attachment and strengthen relationships between caregivers and children • Provide therapeutic and experiential learning through nature, art, animals, music, and movement • Acknowledge, honor and embrace each child’s journey • Create an experience that builds trust and connection • Encourage imagination, creativity, curiosity and through play.
