Summer Camps at College Settlement - COLLEGE SETTLEMEN Teen Adventure Program

* WE HAVE ADDITIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE. The Teen Adventure Program is a physically active five day or twelve day combination of activities designed for 13 and 14 year old campers who enjoy camping, backpacking and adventure based activities. Teens will participate in a variety of activities that may include mountain biking, white water rafting, high ropes and zip line course, and hiking beautiful Pennsylvania mountain and gorge trails. *Priority given to former campers The five day session will be a condensed program that takes place exclusively at our Horsham base camp. The twelve day program has an additional four night Spruce Run Outpost component, along with hiking and white water rafting activities. Teen Campers will participate in a wide variety of activities and no two days will be exactly the same. Our program combines adventure-challenge activities based out of both our Horsham and Spruce Run Mountain Outpost campuses. Spruce Run Outpost is our wilderness camping outpost located in the Pocono Mountains north of Bloomsburg, PA. Teens will spend 4 nights at the outpost and participate in hiking and rustic camping. They will also spend a day white water rafting down the Lehigh River. During their outpost stay, campers will learn more about Pennsylvania wildlife and plants, outdoor cooking skills and much more. Our program is designed to allow teens to grow in numerous ways: self- confidence, teamwork, leadership and new outdoor skills. This unique combination fosters an appreciation for the environment, instills a spirit of adventure, and a sense of community through memorable wilderness and community experiences. Campers will have the opportunity to participate in a college campus tour, climb our high ropes course, bike and hike through some of Pennsylvania’s most stunning trails and mentor younger campers. Our Teen Adventure leaders are well qualified, experienced individuals who hold certifications in Lifeguard training, CPR, and First Aid. The boys and girls Teen Adventure Groups are not co-ed, but run simultaneously with only one gender at the Spruce Run Outpost at a time. We will enroll 12 male and 12 female teen campers per session.
