Camp River Ranch - RR Day Camp Frontier Girls

This program is for campers with some riding experience. The goal is to learn about horse care and develop comfort riding at a trot These skills will aid you in your trail ride. You will spend two mornings in Horse Country during your week at camp. Your first visit will include a one hour ring lesson and a one hour ground lesson. Your second visit will include a one hour ground lesson and a one hour trail ride. You will still have lots of time to visit your other favorite parts of camp during the week. With Classic Camp, girls decide what activities to do. Each camp session begins with girls planning their camp schedule together, based on the interests of the girls and the week’s theme. Camp staff help their living unit plan a balanced and well-rounded session. While every camper will not participate in every activity, every camper will get to try several different Classic Camp activities. Swimming, nature exploration, leadership development, row boating, outdoor skills, arts, theater, songs, games, hiking, berry picking at the local berry farm, campfires and cookouts are just a few of the activity possibilities. For campers entering grades 4-8 you will also have the possibility of participating in kayaking, canoeing, archery, rock climbing and/or our low ropes challenge course and so much more! In addition to all the exciting program areas there are to experience, campers sleep out under the stars *Day Campers ONLY have a Thursday overnight during sessions 3, 4, 6 & 7*, all sessions plan and cook a meal in the out of doors together, enjoy campfires, flag ceremonies and community living. Campers participate in these activities while living as an integral part of the camp community sharing challenges, accomplishments, responsibilities, fun and memories with a small group of her peers and positive adult role models. Each week has a theme that is reflected in the programming, camp-wide activities and theme meals.
