While Namanu provides valuable developmental opportunities for kids, to a camper Namanu is simply thrilling and magical. It is a timeless place of breakfast sing-alongs, night-time skits, and endless discovery; of new friendships and caring counselors. It is a wonderland of archery, horseback riding, swimming, arts and crafts, rock climbing, ropes courses, boating, and whitewater rafting. Children sing the same songs, sleep in the same cabins, and play some of the same games that Namanu campers have for generations. Mornings are met with the blast of a bugle, lunch bells echo throughout the reaches of the forest, and evening skies swarming with stars are met with the crackle of camp fire, guitars and song. It is a unique sensation to step onto the meadow at Namanu on a sunny day and look around at the huge expanse of green grass, the rustic wooden cabins, and the many trails that disappear invitingly into the surrounding trees. It is no wonder that for many Oregonians, Namanu continues to inspire a warm smile and hold a special place in their heart.
