Living together in a village cabin, L.I.T.s share team-building activities that solidify the group and enhance their personal skills for working with young campers. Problem-solving activities, service projects and group discussions guide the experience as L.I.T.s spend time observing and assisting staff with camptivities and cabin groups. Occasionally, L.I.T.s may be asked to work with an opposite gender cabin. Living in camper cabins, C.I.T.s are an integral part of the counseling team, and spend time in peer group discussions sharing cabin experiences, addressing concerns, and developing leadership skills. The lower C.I.T. fee acknowledges C.I.T.s' service to Camp Echo as they learn. C.I.T.s have an exclusive opportunity to enroll in Echo's Lifeguard Plus, or to be reimbursed by Camp Echo at the McGaw YMCA class rate for any Lifeguard class successfully completed within one year.
