Camp Echo - Traditional Camp
Families tell us that Camp Echo's traditional overnight camps are the best all-around camp experience in the region. Each summer, campers of all gender identities and backgrounds get to discover the wonders of the outdoors while making friends and forming memories that will last a lifetime.
Campers attend Traditional Camp to make new friends, explore the outdoors, and participate in challenging camp activities that appeal to a wide range of interests. Campers spend time living, working, and playing with their cabin group and pursuing progressive challenges that vary depending on the age. Every camper follows a daily schedule and gets to spend time with new friends, doing crafts, archery, and visiting the lake. Evenings are spent bonding with cabin mates, playing games, or participating in campfires. From morning reflections to bedtime Taps talks, campers grow in spirit, mind, and body, learning YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility in a supportive setting.
Campers in this program stay in cabins at Main Camp.
