This unique experience allows children to play and explore while developing self-esteem and independence. Campers get the opportunity to share this experience with a camp full of children who have faced similar challenges of being born with a heart condition. While not the focus of our program, these children often find huge support from counselors and cabin mates with their struggles with heart disease and often feel more confident in their lives at home, knowing they have a community of camp friends and camp experiences to build on.
