YMCA Camp Nissokone - Counselor in Training (CIT)

The C.I.T. program is for Boys and Girls entering grades 11 and 12. Counselors are the key to a successful camp program. Many parents ask “where do you find the camp counselors?” The simple answer is that we grow our own! Previous YMCA Campers make the best staff. The C.I.T program is the beginning of this important journey. The C.I.T program consists of 3 main components: education, team building and real life experience. C.I.T’s will work on problem solving, communication skills and child development concepts. Cabin group dynamics and behavioral interactions are studied prior to the C.I.T’s getting first hand experience in the cabin under the supervision of the staff.
