During this week, you’ll stay up later each night and do nighttime activities like flashlight tag, star gazing, night hikes, Capture the Flag, and maybe even a drive-in style movie or sleeping in the field! Make sure you have a good flashlight and some dark clothes. Since everyone will be staying up late this week, we’ll also have a special evening of night-themed electives and we’ll celebrate the Fourth of July in true Mount Luther style! We call this a SUPER week because each day we’ll have extra elective time so that you can participate in one or more of the following. • LEGO Adventure: Campers will be able to express their creativity, learn more about their favorite hobby of LEGO building, build models, and grow in faith as you express Bible stories using this art form. Campers who want to build can bring a set of their own to use during this time. • Crafts: If you like to do arts and crafts, you’ll have extra time in our craft lodge and will be able to make some special projects. • Fishing: Bring your own fishing equipment or use ours at our stocked pond. Worms will be supplied! • Water Adventure: We’ll have all kinds of activities that you can do in the water; some will be at the pool, in a creek, perhaps on a water slide; bring your bathing suit! • Survival Using the Resources of the Environment (SURE): Learn more about surviving when you need the vitals of shelter, water, and fire. Some areas we might cover include plant and animal identification, shelter building, simple tools, water collection, fire building, tracking exercises, pond studies and edible plants. • Featured Field Game: Each day, we’ll have a sport or game to play during elective time, too.
