Camp Rock also offers a Counselor in Training or C.I.T. program for youth entering grades 9-12. C.I.T.s enroll in 3wk sessions during which they learn about leadership, youth work, service and camp culture! C.I.T.s are paired with groups of 1-3rd graders as assistants to Unit Leaders. The C.I.T. program is managed by the Assistant Camp Director.
C.I.T.s also enjoy many traditional camp activities while learning to effectively supervise and manage a camp group. Camp activities include daily swimming, weekly field trips, boating, hiking, art and more!
C.I.T.s are required to apply for this program and are briefly interviewed by the Assistant Camp Director before acceptance. First-year C.I.T.s generally enroll in the first or second C.I.T. session while returning C.I.T.s are offered the final session of the summer. Returning C.I.T.s have the opportunity to specialize and are paired with a program director (art, sports, outdoor education), aquatics director, directing staff, or unit leader depending on their area of interest.
