Junior Camp serves children entering Kindergarten through third grade in fall 2027 and is organized into four units: Unit A (Kindergarten), Unit B (1st grade), Unit C (2nd grade), and Unit D (3rd grade). Activities are developmentally appropriate and grow with campers’ expanding skills as they move through the units. Our choice-based programming and environment give children the freedom to pursue existing interests and discover new ones.
Each day begins with “Gully,” the camp’s outdoor amphitheater, where campers are welcomed with songs, games, and skits, and where birthdays are celebrated. Campers participate in swim instruction through group games that build pool safety and swimming skills, along with outdoor play on the camp’s shaded playgrounds and daily “Unit Choice Time,” in which counselors lead projects and activities that are sometimes inspired by campers’ own suggestions. Through a specials rotation guided by specialist teachers, every camper experiences science, arts and crafts, theater and music, athletics, and nature exploration. Themed spirit days and special events, including a Fourth of July parade and a staff vaudeville show, round out the summer. Unit D campers, in their final year of Junior Camp, also select from afternoon workshops to preview Senior Camp activities and enjoy a special evening Late Night on campus once during the summer.
