Academic Courses
At Summer Springboard, we believe learning should be inspiring and interactive. Our carefully curated courses blend top academic instruction, hands-on learning, and exposure to industry-leading businesses and professionals that reflect the resources of the New Haven area. Whenever possible, classes are held outdoors, on-site, or in a lab-type setting to allow students as many hands-on opportunities as possible. Activities such as field trips, guest speakers, and practical scenarios take the learning experience beyond the classroom and leverage all that New Haven has to offer.
In addition to the morning academic course, students spend the afternoon either in electives, True You, or their course-specific field trip/activity.
Activities & Trips
Top: Since we are based in the heart of New England with access to the premier facilities offered by the University, this program will combine time in the classroom with visits around the New Haven area. Students will have the chance to experience interesting tourist and academic-related locations to help broaden their experience and expose them to one of the most exciting areas of the East Coast. Additionally, we’ll enjoy the fun attractions in the vicinity. All excursions are fully supervised by Summer Springboard staff.
Boston
Spend the day in Boston where students will have the opportunity to explore the iconic and historical landmarks. Explore the Freedom Trail to trace the footsteps of American revolutionaries, don't miss the stunning views from the top of the Bunker Hill Monument, and stroll through the picturesque Boston Common.
New Haven, Connecticut
While best known for Yale University, the city of New Haven has a bustling pedestrian life too with its numerous shops, cafes and top-rated restaurants. Some favorite restaurants are Yorkside Restaurant, Ashley's Ice Cream, and Shake Shack. There are also world-class museums available to students, such as the Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History, the Yale University Art Gallery and the Yale Center for British Art.
Track-Specific Excursions
In order to take full advantage of everything New England offers, each academic program may take their students on related trips. The goal of these trips is to augment their study and exposure to a particular subject area. Previous visits have included: Yale New Haven Emergency Department, Supreme Court, Henry C. Lee Institute, Boost Oxygen, and more.
