Camp BREC - Swampscapes

Join us this summer in exploring the patterns, shapes and colors of the Swamp. From spirals and squares to chartreuse and camouflage, we’ll find it all! Age-specific, thematic activities are developed to keep campers having fun all day long as they interact with live animals, go on outdoor hikes, play games and make unique nature crafts. Fun snacks are provided in the afternoons, but campers should bring a bag lunch and drink each day. Field trips are generally scheduled twice a week, including for Swamp Squirts sessions. Swamp Counselors in Training session will continue with new opportunities for first, second, and third year CITs to gain skills needed to work as counselors at Bluebonnet Swamp. Topics focus on camper management techniques, leadership training and activity development, as well as job seeking skills to provide valuable experience for potential employment opportunities in the future. The Swamp CIT registration fee includes four days of training (May 30-June 2) and one day of skill evaluation the following week (June 5-9).
