Wilderness trips are the heartbeat of Birchwood! We've witnessed campers leave for Birchwood wilderness trips as boys and come back as young men, changed by the path of the paddle. Over half a century, we've perfected the trips we offer in order to deliver these outdoor experiences to our campers! Each week, campers choose a trip from a list of four or five options. The trip list always includes a three-day, four-day, and five-day trip, meaning campers get to decide to which degree they want to challenge themselves each week. Depending on the experience level of our campers, we offer seven to ten day trips for our four week seasoned voyageurs who want them! Trips are lead by two Birchwood counselors and typically include between four and seven campers.
