A COOL WAY TO SPEND THE SUMMER would sum up the feelings of our Voyageurs. While Voyageurs enjoy our fantastic in-camp activities, these young men can expect to meet new and interesting challenges in their our-of-camp adventures. Two-Week Voyageurs will be headed to the Pine River in northern Lower Michigan for three days/two nights of great canoeing on the fast waters of this river. This great trip will give our two-week Voyageurs a true introduction to canoeing. Four-Week Voyageurs will be headed to the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore for four days/three nights of hiking along Lake Superior. The unparalleled views from this trail are second-to-none, and this through-hiking trip will allow our four-week Voyageurs to gain a true introduction to backpacking. Our four-week Voyageurs will also be able to paddle the fast waters of the Pine River in northern Lower Michigan. Campers learn that success and enjoyment of a trip depends on physical and mental preparation, as well as each Voyageur’s responsibility to the group. New campers see how much the spirit of Hayo-Went-Ha has to offer.
