STEM Camp: Drones and Robotics has been CANCELLED for summer 2020.
Making Practical Sense of “T” in STEM Camp for Middle Schoolers
This is a one of a kind Summer STEM Camp for curious minded middle school students. STEM Camp: Drones and Robotics is designed to fire the imagination of middle schoolers with modern knowledge skills sets embodied in the “T” in STEM disciplines. Students begin their investigation of what powers all technology in use today – Circuits. This simple introduction of circuitry leads them to a better understanding of what powers electronic devices.
Students practically demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of “Technology” in STEM by engaging in fun filled hands-on activities involving; a) Circuitry, b) Coding, c) Robotics, d) Drones and e) Augmented/Virtual Reality. These fun activities culminate in groups creatively building remote controlled cars, robots, flying drones and writing codes to control the devices.
During the one-week STEM Camp, students participate in activities designed to elevate their computational thinking and higher order thinking skill sets. Working in groups, they demonstrate interdisciplinary approach and high level of rigor to practical application of their devices essential in solving today's societal problems.
