Cabrillo Summer Youth Program - Game Labs: Introduction to Dungeons and Dragons
In 1974, Dungeons and Dragons started a phenomenon that is stronger than ever. There are now dozens of different rulesets, thousands of different scenarios, and infinite ways to tell a story together with your friends! Begin the week by learning the basic rules of Dungeons and Dragons, 5th edition, as you explore your first world. We’ll, delve into world-building, character creation, story pacing, team problem solving, math and science concepts, and so much more as you collaboratively write a scenario to take home and play with friends and family. By Friday, you’ll not only know how to play: you’ll be the Dungeon Master!
Campers will end the week with the outline of their custom 2-3 hour scenario, a set of dice, character sheet templates, and their hand-crafted Dungeon Master screen - everything they need to start their own D&D game at home!
