In this new camp, campers will create 3-dimensional sculptures of a favorite character from a book, movie, or a character from their imagination! Over the course of the week we will learn how to use polymer clay, papier mache, plaster, gauze, paint, wire, cardboard, and other repurposed and found materials. We’ll begin by helping campers envision, in detail, the 3D version of their character. We will stretch and explore different ways to create that character using a wide variety of tools, techniques, and materials, and have plenty of time for creative experimentation! Campers will learn ways to visually express their character's personality, as they learn multiple 3D mixed-media sculpture techniques. They will go home with their amazing new character sculpture, and the skills to create many more at home!
