Cabrillo Summer Youth Program - Little Medical School

Discover the fascinating science of the human body through hands-on activities, games, and role playing. Campers will learn medical and STEM concepts in playful, science based themes such as: The wonderful brain; Your spine is fine; All about the heart; Bones; What’s in the doctor’s bag?...and so many more! Campers will find out why mucus and boogers are important, and make and take home homemade snot. They will learn about first aid, muscle groups, organs, how lungs work, how the eye reacts to light, and what a prescription is. Whether your little one imagines they are a future healthcare provider, or they’re just a science lover, this camp will keep them engaged and excited. After a lesson about how x-rays are taken, campers will take a tour of Cabrillo’s Radiologic Technology Program lab and Nursing Program lab, and meet college students pursuing health care careers. Our camp week will conclude with a graduation ceremony, reciting of the Little Medical School Oath, and go home with their diploma and a working stethoscope!
