Make up stories, create and illustrate your characters, then publish your own book—what a great way to start your summer! This camp supports the continued development of reading & writing skills, reading comprehension, and English Language Arts skills. Campers write and publish their own “mystery story book,” including their “author’s statement,” and create their own cover art and illustrations. We will combine creative writing, mixed media art, group discussions, reader’s theater, and fun, educational technology-based games to build their reading, writing, and spelling skills. Readers of all levels will enjoy an age appropriate collection of books in a soft, supportive environment designed to encourage their lifelong love of literature. No testing, and no pressure, just a safe space to learn, play, and be creative to foster a love of reading, and build confidence!
