This day camp provides students, who have completed 6th-8th grade, hands-on learning from the perspective of a nursing student. Campers will learn basic skills such as health assessments (blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, etc.), sterile technique, proper body mechanics while transferring a patient and therapeutic communication. They will also benefit from a comprehensive child and babysitting safety course including basic CPR and first aid that will give them real-world skills. Campers will walk through a glimpse of 4 semesters of our nursing program in 4 days at an age-appropriate pace.
