Advanced Campers with a passion for hands-on earth science will love this camp’s in-depth focus on all things Paleontology and Geology. From the dawn of the planet to today’s modern environments, campers will explore, observe, map, draw, and measure fossils and rock layers from Dinosaur Ridge to Idaho Springs. See where glaciers shaped our Front Range, touch dinosaur bones and tracks, and explore natural resources through games and experiments. This is an engaging week of fossil collection, paleo-art, and outdoor leadership. Field trips may include the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, School of Mines Geology Museum, Morrison Natural History Museum, American Mountaineering Museum, and an outdoor community service project! This camp is recommended for children that have finished 4th grade through those going into 8th grade, or 10 to 13 years of age.
