Our Musical Theatre camp offers a chance for participants to blend theatre, vocal/musical training, and dance. A series of guest artists and instructors will challenge students' creativity while also concentrating on safe technique and building healthy personal rehearsal practices. In the summer of 2023, the program will run Honk! JR. Adapted for young performers, and with a score by George Stiles and Anthony Drewe (Mary Poppins), this musical is a heartwarming celebration of being different that is sure to delight all ages with its sparkling wit, unique charm, and memorable score. Witty and hilarious, but also deeply moving, Honk! Jr. will treat the audience to equal amounts of laughter and tears. We meet each student at their current skill level to ensure that every participant, whether new to the stage or a veteran, is challenged and supported. Students will also participate in interdisciplinary workshops for other aspects of the performing arts as well as enjoying trips off campus, open mic nights, and a variety of summer fun. The program will close with a musical performance for family and friends.
