Camp Fowler - LEAD Expeditions
We have a new plan for LEAD Expedition this year and we are stoked. Why? Because we're going white water rafting with our friends at Beaver Brook Outfitters! This is an opportunity exclusive to our LEAD expedition campers, so sign up early and bring a friend!
Along with white water rafting, campers will embark on a two night/three day canoeing/backpacking adventure near Thirteenth Lake and Peaked Mountain and have the opportunity to stay in Camp Fowler's adopted lean-to on Hour Pond. After that excursion, campers will return to Camp Fowler to spend a day rafting and a day practicing wilderness skills and preparing the Wilderness area for the campers who will stay there for the rest of the summer. This week is a great balance between wild fun and selfless service.
LEAD Expedition differs from others by its emphasis on teaching and equipping future wilderness leaders, whether for personal interest or for service at Camp Fowler. Students coming out of 10th, 11th, or 12th grade can apply to be S.W.i.M.s later in the summer, either during one of our incamp weeks or by helping out with one of our wilderness trips for younger campers.
