
Wilderness Awareness School - Bushcraft
Prerequisite - Wilderness Survival Overnight Camp
Bushcraft is designed for campers who have completed at least one week of Wilderness Survival Overnight and who enjoy focusing on crafting for extended periods of time. We will set up our "primitive living" camp on Coho Ridge (our rustic 20-acre parcel) and create projects that will make our camp feel more like home. Adventure far out into the deep woods on fishing and gathering missions by day and craft around the fire by night.

Bushcraft Overnight teaches advanced survival skills while participants:
Build skill with your bow drill friction fire kits
Cook multiple meals over open fire and coals
Learn the use of saws and axes
Create and use stone tools
Identify and harvest wild edibles
Craft gourd bowls, cedar spoons, cooking tools, baskets
Make natural rope and learn lashing and building techniques
Learn the safe use of knives as tools
Fish in a wild pond
Pursue fun adventures off-trail
Connect with new friends
Our instructional team features:
A 1:9 staff-student ratio
On-site director and volunteers who offer additional instructor support
