Summer on the Farm is our camp for kids to explore, grow, and learn! Children spend the entire week at CHP. Experienced staff and specialized guest educators visit the farm daily to lead activities. We take hikes, hold scavenger hunts, and spend as much time outside as possible, while making plenty of time to cook in our air-conditioned Great Room. Besides the great experience of daily harvesting, children learn about the habitats surrounding the farm, the best ways to plant and tend to their own vegetables, food groups, cook basic recipes, get creative with art projects and are plenty active with veggie tag and the Farm Olympics! 100% of campers learned something new, tried a new food, and did and activity or cooked a recipe that they also wanted to do at home! Each day there are projects and creations that students take home to continue learning and to share what they know. To get on our email list for 2016 Summer on the Farm updates please email: alicia@community-harvest.org. In exciting news – the program is growing! Thank you for your support attending and spreading the word to friends!! To accommodate increased interest in Summer on the Farm, we are now offering 2 weeks and sessions within those weeks to expand the ages for enrollment. Activities will vary for sessions of the same age, and will vary across sessions in the same week as age appropriate. Parent Quotes: “This was her favorite week this summer! She came home literally bouncing with excitement to tell me what she had done during the day and super excited to share fresh tomatoes with the family.” “I liked that they were exposed to new activities and a new environment, unlike any other camp they’re been to over the years.” “This was such a positive experience. He learned so much and was able to come home and teach us some new things too!”
