Camp Christian - Chi Rho
Our Goal each week at Camp Christian is to build as closely as possible "the Kingdom of God on Earth." Each morning begins with Cabin Devotions. After Breakfast we have Quest "Learning Groups" where there is discussion of the day's lesson and a weekly craft. This years lessons are on the Holy Spirit and the beginning of the Church. After lunch there is a group activity that all participate in and then individual activities in the gym, swimming pool, or lake. The evening concludes with a Vespers Service, nightly camp activity (Camp Fire, line dancing, Challenges, etc.) ending with a closing Chi Rho and an evening snack. On Friday Evening there is a special Consecration Service where campers have an opportunity to write themselves a letter. This letter will be delivered to them in Jan or Feb the following year to remind them of their commitment to God. All campers are invited to partake in Communion during this service whether they are baptized or not. We do not do Baptisms at camp as we believe this needs to happen in the church community which nurtures and supports the camper during the rest of the year.
