Sierra Nevada Journeys’ Week-Long Overnight Summer Camp offers youth ages 8 to 18 an unforgettable outdoor experience that blends classic camp fun with meaningful personal growth. Campers spend Sunday afternoon through Friday morning immersed in nature at our Outdoor Education Camp in Portola, California, just 50 minutes northwest of Reno and two hours from Sacramento. Through hands-on adventures like kayaking, hiking, high ropes, archery, and campfires, campers build confidence, teamwork, and leadership skills in a safe, supportive environment. Social-emotional learning is woven throughout the experience, encouraging collaboration, communication, and a strong sense of community.
