Our mission at The Painted Turtle is to provide therapeutic, recreational, and medically safe camp experiences filled with fun, laughter, and friendship to children with serious illnesses and their families. Our programs are designed to encourage children to try new things, from traditional favorites to exciting new adventures, there’s no shortage of fun! All activities are adaptive and conducted with close supervision and the utmost regard for safety. Since opening in 2004, The Painted Turtle has provided hundreds of thousands of camp experiences to children with serious medical conditions and their families through year-round programming. We're a proud member of the SeriousFun Children’s Network, founded by Paul Newman. Comprised of the finest medical camps and programs, the network serves children and families around the world. The Painted Turtle does not have a billing department. Camp is FREE of charge for campers and families. Because of the generosity of donors and supporters, we are able to offer the opportunity to experience intentional and exciting camp activities while receiving top-notch medical care — at no expense. We believe that every child should have a chance to just be a kid in a safe and empowering camp environment.
