Junior Leadership Camp-NMMI
The Junior Leadership Camp (JLC) program was created in 2007 with the intent of reaching out to youth who have completed the 6th, 7th, or 8th grades, males and females. This camp is not for high school grades 9th through 12th. The JLC program focus is to create an interactive and challenging environment full of academic and experiential learning activities comprised of classroom and outdoor events. Emphasis is placed on exposing the participants to New Mexico Military Institute cadet life, character building, understanding followership, and developing leadership skills.
Camp highlights are:
a. A full week’s schedule of academic and social activities
b. Low and High Ropes Course
c. Leadership Reaction Course
d. Science, Math, Foreign Languages, Leadership, Emergency Management, and Constitutional academic curriculum
e. Fields Trips to historical, cultural, and science locations.
f. Museum visits
g. Swimming, paintball, and field games
The Junior Leadership Camp program is now taking applications for participants. There will be two camps offered this summer during the month of June.
Camp number 1 – 7 through 13 June 2015
Camp number 2 - 14 through 20 June 2015
The cost is $750.00 per participant per camp - covers room and board plus fees associated with field trips and activities.\
