Burgundy Center for Wildlife Studies

Nature camp in the WV mountains less than 100 miles west of Washington, D.C! Hike, swim, garden, backpack and hunt for birds, butterflies, salamanders and foxes at this nature and science camp. We incorporate laughter, games, arts, music, and lots of active, creative fun into a relaxed but high quality program in which campers learn about animals, plants, geology, astronomy, ecology and conservation. Exploring nature alongside dynamic, knowledgeable, caring staff, campers learn in small groups and carry out independent projects. Each day brings the community together in a range of workshops, whole group challenges, and family-style meals. The group also honors quiet reflection and a sense of wonder. The 500 acres of forest and meadow shelter a wide diversity of plant and animal life. The spring- fed stream and pond support a rich aquatic ecosystem and provide good swimming. The night sky is speckled with stars.
