Oakland Yard Summer Adventure Camps - Rocket
Building and launching rockets all week! What a week! Rocket engineers will build ESTES rockets daily. All rockets will be assembled individually. Campers will have to make landing estimates taking into consideration wind speed, wind direction, and engine velocity. This camp is of course for fun, but hopefully children will learn a little about weather and how it affects the launch and landing, about the National Air and Space Administration (NASA), past APOLLO missions and the FAA. Campers will take home all rockets that they build and launch, including the ever-popular air-powered rocket, which shoots up to 200 feet! Camp includes lunch Wednesday – Friday. Note camp goes longer on those days for rocket launching.
