YKnots Day Camp - Y Knots & Y Knots 2 Camps

At Y Knots Camps we are intentional about everything that we do. From the moment that campers arrive at camp, they are immersed in activities that will help them throughout their lifetime. Singing camp songs helps build their confidence and form strong connections with their camp group. Pairing up with different partners promotes new friendships and makes them more socially confident. Encouraging independence nourishes their self-esteem and developing a love of nature stimulates their desire to make the world a better place. Mornings are spent walking through Memorial Park to the Maplewood Country Club for instructional swim. After Swim Lessons, campers are bused back to the Y for group games and lunch. Then, our Y Knots 1 Campers take a short nap, while our Y Knots 2 Campers develop Early Literacy skills by reading/being read to as part of our ACA Explore 30 reading program. Afternoons are spent in our Special Activities, which are designed to engage and challenge this age group. Some examples include: • Hands-on experiments that will inspire curiosity and learning in Mad Science • Exploring art techniques and genres, while discovering their creativity in Amazing Artists • Expanding their palette for healthy snacks and developing math and reading skills in Culinary Creations • Increasing confidence and a sense of teamwork while actively engaging in Healthy U activities Our team of dedicated directors, activity specialists and counselors are committed to the positive growth of your child. Many staff are our very own Early Childhood Learning Center Teachers, who truly understand the development of young children and look forward to finding the spark of genius in each one of them!
