Camp Oneka - Camp Oneka

Camp Oneka, established in 1908, is an ACA accredited camp for girls located on the shores of beautiful Fairview Lake in the Pocono Mountain region of northeast Pennsylvania. We provide a rich, traditional program including a wide variety of activities from team and individual sports (field hockey, softball, soccer, tennis, volleyball), to Creative Arts (drama, music, dance, yoga, arts and crafts, pottery/ceramics, jewelry, tie-dye, bead work), Adventure and Outdoors (mountain biking, archery, rock climbing, ropes course, team building, hiking, nature study), and wilderness trips, to name a few. Last, and certainly not least is our aquatics program, which is particularly outstanding thanks to our location on beautiful Fairview Lake and to our skilled and passionate staff. Our aquatics program includes swim instruction (American Red Cross Learn to Swim program), sailing, waterskiing, canoeing, kayaking, stand up paddle-boarding, Lifeguard Training, tubing, water trampoline, and more. Camp Oneka's picturesque lake and waterfront was even used by the National Red Cross as a site for the production of a part of their Lifeguard Training instructional video series, and we continue to train nearly our entire staff of counselors and activity instructors as American Red Cross Waterfront Lifeguards each and every summer. Out camp nights are filled with groups events, stories, skits, songs, and s'mores around the campfire, Red/White team games and competitions, talent shows, a camp play/musical each session, scavenger hunts, the largest games of hide and seek or counselor hunt that you've ever seen, and numerous other fun, active, shared experiences. Our nights finish with each camper stopping in for a snack and a check in with the directors and head staff before heading back to their cabins with their counselors to the sound of taps, and falling asleep to stories, songs, or some quite cabin talks or reading time. Most importantly at Camp Oneka, we have over 110 years of history resulting in lifelong friends still getting together to share stories and treasured and lasting memories around a campfire or kitchen table, and a community based on love, acceptance, friendship, leadership, growth, independence, skill development, trying new things, and just plain fun. These lifelong and meaningful friendships and memories all started right here at Oneka at some point, and this year could be the start of that journey for you. We welcome new members to our Camp Oneka community every summer, and we hope to be able to welcome you to be part of this life changing experience. With a camper-to-counselor ratio of three-to-one, Oneka succeeds in creating a warm family atmosphere where each camper's well-being is everyone's concern. This is particularly reassuring to young and first time campers. Let the world be better because of you. Join us at Camp Oneka!
