Westview on the James

Westview was established in 1966 by the United Methodist Church with the goal of creating a nurturing environment for spiritual development and community involvement. Since its beginning, Westview has been committed to cultivating a strong sense of faith and belonging. A central part of this mission is to provide children, teenagers, and adults with the chance to encounter Jesus in a personal and impactful way. Through various programs like Summer Residential Camp, Summer Adventure Camp, and its role as a retreat facility, Westview strives to be a space where individuals of all ages can explore their faith, foster community, and gain a deeper understanding of Christ. Westview's Summer Camp is an essential experience for kids, bursting with fun and excitement! Tucked away in a glorious 780 acres of nature, camp is your child’s ticket to a week packed with arts and crafts, sports, canoeing, kayaking, rock climbing, and team-building! With a sprinkle of spiritual growth and a dash of community spirit, Westview is all about boosting self-confidence, building leadership skills, and forming friendships that can last a lifetime. The fabulous counselors are your child’s friendly guides on this adventure, ensuring everyone feels safe and included while exploring their passions, tackling challenges, and soaking up the summer sun. Whether it’s paddling on the lake, hitting a bullseye on the archery range, or roasting gooey s'mores by the campfire, Westview's summer camp programs guarantee a week so fun, kids will be reminiscing about it for years to come!
