Melwood Recreation Center

Melwood and Children’s National Hospital have created an unforgettable camp experience by uniting the deep-rooted dedication of the Melwood team with the unmatched medical expertise and care of the Children’s National team. Camp Accomplish offers an extraordinary, unique and inclusive summer camp for kids and teens with disabilities and chronic health conditions. Camp Accomplish offers options for day (ages 5-18) and overnight (ages 8-18) camp options and strives to make camp affordable and accessible for all. Financial aid is offered based on need, and there are no additional fees when campers need more support to attend, including 1:1 assistance. Campers can enjoy a variety of different activities including swimming, gaga, climbing wall and ropes courses, archery, creative arts, sports, canoeing, horseback riding, campfires, talent shows, and much more. Campers 16-18 can also participate in our Counselor-In-Training (CIT) program, to work on personal growth, character building and leadership skills. All the while, families can rest assured, knowing that there is a team of experts on hand who understand their child’s chronic health condition and are prepared to offer support so their child can safely enjoy a fun summer experience.
